Southern style biscuits and gravy, the benchmark of comfort food. My wife describes this as "exactly as her grandmother would make." After going over the ingredients, this recipe is a whole lot simpler. This is where i would add a memory about that one time that I made it, but I make this frequently because it is easy and quick. The gravy is made in one pot with one spatula and is usually done before the biscuits even come out of the oven.
It doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to remind you of your grandmother.

Cook sausage in large skillet until brownish, stirring frequently. Leave the grease in no matter what your spouse says. Gradually add 2 1/2 cups milk, stir in 1/4 cup flour. cook until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
